Hardly any other landscape in Europe still offers as much "wild nature" from the valleys to the highest elevations as the Salzkammergut. Especially on the extensive karst plateaus of the Dachstein massif, the Tote Gebirge and the Höllengebirge, a still largely untouched landscape and nature has been preserved, which can otherwise only be found in national parks.
Our themed show specifically addresses the diversity of wildlife that can be observed on hikes with a little luck and perseverance.
The exhibition shows the creatures in their natural environment and is designed as a "discovery tour" of what is known and unknown in the various habitats.
Our original permanent exhibition is currently an integral part of our special exhibition ... "The Wonder of Diversity - Knowing and Understanding Upper Austria's Nature".
