The special exhibition can currently be admired at the Salzkammergut Museum of Nature!

Immerse yourself in the mysterious world of giant beetles in this special exhibition. With more than 350,000 species discovered to date, beetles are one of the largest groups of insects. They have colonized all continents with the exception of Antarctica.

Discover in true-to-life small dioramas, special specimens from the realm of beetles, such as Titanus giganteus which is with about 17cm the longest beetle in the world or the Goliath beetle which can weigh up to 110 grams. There are not only specimens from distant countries to marvel at, but also the largest native species are shown, such as the imposing stag beetle, or the endangered oak beetle.

This exhibition not only focuses on the insect world of the various continents, but also on the bird species found in a wide variety of habitats, such as the Red Rockcock from Peru or the Renauld's Cuckoo from Southeast Asia.

Let yourself be overwhelmed by the impressive world of giant beetles.
